The strength and stillness of the ancient cedar.
2020
Grenache 95%, Syrah 5%
A Grenache lover, I wanted to vinify this southern grape. A chance encounter in 2020 made that dream possible, in collaboration with a biodynamic Rhône domaine. Sublimated by a year in amphora, the wine's notes of bark and undergrowth mingled with the subtle freshness of mint brought me back to that centuries-old cedar I love to find at the bottom of my street — KEDRON (Greek for cedar) was born.
KEDRON — Kedron — cedar (Greek)
A deep, dense robe with garnet reflections. A flattering, explosive nose of stewed dark fruit, wild blackberry, blackcurrant and cherry, with subtle notes of peony and spice on aeration. A generous, powerful, fleshy and yet fluid palate with dense, smoky tannins; a fine acidity drawing the wine toward a long finish of liquorice stick, tobacco, cherry stone, blueberries bursting with midsummer flavour.
